About the Environmental Design Course

The degree course of the Environmental Design specialty is provided at the first (Bachelor of Environmental Design) and Second (Master of Environmental Design) levels of higher education. The degree in Environmental Design at the International European University, Ukraine – Malta Campus teaches students how to connect people, nature, and the architectural world. Students discover how to create healthy and sustainable communities with attention to social justice and economic vitality. The interdisciplinary curriculum of the International European University, Ukraine – Malta Campus Environmental Design program explores numerous design theories and practices, teaching students to integrate scholarship, evidence-based practice, and experiential learning into their practice of shaping our environment. The Environmental Design course covers a range of topics related to the built environment and its relationship with the natural environment.

The goal of the Environmental Design course is to provide students with the skills and knowledge needed to design and plan sustainable built environments that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Environmental Design is a flexible multi-disciplinary degree from the International European University, Ukraine – Malta Campus involving the design and planning of natural and constructed environments. It promotes synergy between objects and settings, built form, and landscape across a range of scales, climates, and cultures. Incorporating architecture, landscape architecture, urban design, and environmental planning, it includes the analysis, conception, and representation of places, objects, and policies as they shape our environments. The Environmental Design program offers elective courses in specialized areas of study, such as green infrastructure, ecological restoration, or environmental psychology.
